What's Involved In Our Level 3 Sports Massage Course
Our Level 3 Sports Massage course is developed by Sports Massage Education, with research-led, evidence-based content that’s regularly updated to stay current.
We teach the course on a 1-1 or 2-to-1 basis rather than in big groups, tailored to your background, experience, pace and your goals for the course. This might be clinic work, sports teams, or starting your own business.
What Makes This Course Different
You’ll learn techniques normally taught on Level 4 or 5 Sports Massage courses, including:
- Trigger Point Therapy
- Soft Tissue Release (STR)
- Muscle Energy Techniques (METs)
- An introduction to Dermoneuromodulation
Having qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist in 2011, I’ve been teaching this course since 2022. I hold a Level 5 Sports Therapy Diploma from Movement Therapy Education, have worked across professional sport and in clinic, and have mentored therapists through the STA for over 10 years — new therapists in the industry starting out, and also those who felt there were gaps in their learning.

How the Course Works
1-1 tuition is taught on an individual basis — your own pace, your own dates, and the course tailored to your learning style and where you want to take it. 2-to-1 works the same way for two people, with dates, pace and learning style agreed between you both so neither of you miss an in-person day.
The course is made up of:
- 10 in-person days in Broadstone (60 hours)
- 40 hours of case study work
- Online learning at your own pace — 12 weeks (4–6 hrs/week), 16 weeks (3–4 hrs/week), or 20 weeks (2–3 hrs/week)
After qualifying, you’re eligible to join the STA (as a student during the course, then as a full member), and past learners have gone on to start their own businesses or progress onto Sports Therapy degrees, Chiropractic degrees, or a Level 5 Sports Therapy Diploma.
